Where to Buy HomelyCraft: Why We Sell Direct, Not on Marketplaces

One website, one email address, no marketplace shops and no resellers. Why a made-to-order studio works direct, what you give up by buying that way, and how to check you are on the real site.

Where to Buy HomelyCraft: Why We Sell Direct, Not on Marketplaces

There is one website, one email address and no shops. If you have found the HomelyCraft name attached to something else, this page is the plain statement of where this studio actually sells - and the honest argument for why it sells that way.

The only places HomelyCraft sells from

  • This website - homelycraft.online, with or without the www.
  • One email address - hello@homelycraft.online. Every reply about an order comes from it.
  • The studio - 231 Garstang Rd E, Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire FY6 7SY, United Kingdom, for correspondence.

That is the complete list. No marketplace shops, no auction listings, no social-media storefronts, no resellers, no drop-shippers, no print-on-demand partners and no shelf in anybody's shop. We would tell you if there were, because a second honest sales channel is worth having.

So if you find the name somewhere else, it is not this studio's - and we should be straight about the limits of that statement. We hold no accounts on those platforms, which means we also have no standing to get a listing removed on your behalf. All we can do is say clearly where we sell and let you compare.

Why made-to-order does not fit a marketplace listing

A marketplace checkout is built around a fixed object: known item, known price, card charged, dispatch clock starts. A HomelyCraft order has a conversation in the middle of it. You send the names, the date, sometimes a photograph; we lay the engraving out at the real size of the piece and email it back; you say yes, or you correct the spelling; then it gets cut. Only after that is anything made.

Dropped into a listing flow, that sequence breaks in four predictable places:

  • Personalization text has to be read by a person, and surprisingly often queried - a date in the wrong order, a nickname nobody can spell, nine words in a space built for five.
  • Photographs arrive at resolutions that will not print, which has to be sorted before the piece is made, not after.
  • Lead time depends on what you asked for, not on a number fixed in a listing months earlier.
  • One-off requests have no listing to sit in - a different wood, a longer message, two pieces matched as a pair, a plaque sized to a particular shelf.

Plenty of makers do sell personalized work through marketplace fields and do it well. What those fields cannot do is show you the layout at full size and then wait for your approval. That pause is where nearly every engraving mistake gets caught, and we are not willing to trade it for a faster checkout.

What the fee stack does to a handmade price

A marketplace price has to carry a listing fee, a sales commission, payment processing and - in practice, because an unpromoted listing is close to invisible - advertising. The percentages differ by platform and change often, so take the structure rather than a number: on a gift priced under a hundred pounds, those layers come out of the same margin that pays for the board, the finish and an hour of somebody's attention.

Something then has to give, and it is usually one of three things: the material drops to a veneered board instead of solid, lacquer instead of oil; or the proof step goes, because it is labour; or the packaging does. Selling direct means the price pays for the object. That is the entire argument, and it is worth being clear that it is an argument about where money goes - not a suggestion that sellers on those platforms are dishonest. Most of them are makers solving the same arithmetic a different way.

What you give up by buying direct, stated plainly

This is the part most “buy direct” pages leave out, and it is the part worth reading.

  • No platform dispute button. There is no third party to escalate to in one click. If something goes wrong, you are dealing with us.
  • No bundled buyer-protection scheme sitting behind the transaction by default.
  • No wall of reviews to read first. You cannot scroll nine hundred ratings before deciding, because we do not have any yet.
  • No prepaid returns label in the box, and personalized pieces are not returnable for a change of mind in any case - nobody else can use them.

What stands in for those: paying by card gives you rights against your card provider as well as against us, and a debit-card payment can usually be challenged by chargeback - Citizens Advice sets out how both work. Our shipping, returns and customization terms are written down before you order, including the clauses that are not in our favour. Damage in transit and engraving that does not match the layout you approved are remade or refunded in full. And the thing no platform can hand you: the person who will cut the engraving is the person reading your email.

What buying direct gets you

  • A layout preview at the real dimensions, before anything is cut.
  • Changes after you have seen it - spelling, spacing, size, wording - at no cost.
  • One-off requests, because there is no listing to break.
  • A straight answer about dates. If your deadline cannot be met we say so before taking the order, rather than taking it and missing the occasion.
  • Gift-ready as standard, with the invoice left out when it ships to the recipient instead of the buyer.

How to check you are on the real site

  1. The domain is exactly homelycraft.online. Extra words, extra hyphens or a different ending are not us.
  2. Email comes from hello@homelycraft.online. One address, nothing else.
  3. The address is Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire. It is in the footer of every page and in this site's structured data, where you can read it yourself.
  4. No card is charged on this website. You send your gift bag, we reply with the layout preview, the delivery cost and payment options, and nothing is taken until that is agreed. A page that wants card details straight away is not ours.
  5. Prices are set in pounds and converted for display. What the range actually costs is written down.
  6. Be careful with half-price next-day offers. A personalized piece dispatched tomorrow at half the price is promising something this studio does not: that nobody read your spelling before it was engraved.

If you have already paid someone else using this name

We cannot look up an order that was never placed with us, and we would be guessing if we tried. The useful steps are the ordinary ones: ask the seller for a dispatch date in writing, then raise it with the platform you paid through and with your card provider, both of which have time limits worth not missing. Citizens Advice covers the sequence for UK buyers.

If you want the background before ordering, what HomelyCraft is covers the studio and how a piece gets made covers the workshop. Otherwise the shop is fifty pieces, and one email reaches the person who makes them.

Questions about about the studio

Where can I buy HomelyCraft gifts?

Only from homelycraft.online. There are no marketplace shops, auction listings, social-media storefronts, resellers or retail stockists, and every reply about an order comes from hello@homelycraft.online.

Is HomelyCraft on any marketplace?

No. We hold no accounts on any marketplace or auction platform, so if you find the name on one it is not this studio's. It also means we have no standing to have such a listing removed, which is why this page simply states where we do sell.

Why is there no instant checkout?

Because nothing is made before the engraving is approved. You send your gift bag with the names, dates and message, we email a layout preview at the real size of the piece, and the order is confirmed with delivery cost and payment options once you say yes.

Can I visit the studio?

The Poulton-le-Fylde address is for correspondence rather than a shop counter. Email first if you need to collect an order in person and we will arrange a time.

Do you have resellers or wholesale partners?

No. Bulk and corporate orders are handled directly from ten pieces upwards, with individual name engraving rather than only company branding.
